    wierd noise

Whenever I rev my 318iS ~4000rpm with the clutch depressed a rapid clanking noise starts and doesn't die back down until I release the clutch. Even if I let it back down to idle it will still make this noise, but as soon as I start to release the clutch it goes away. Do you have any idea what this is?

Sounds like a throwout bearing, but it could be a problem with the pressure plat. In any case the transmission is going to have to come out.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yeah I was kind of thinking the throw out bearing, but I'm not too sure. Also, when I downshift into 2nd hard it grinds. I have a Z3 lever too if that helps.
