Big nut on the back of the transmission

This is what you have to take off to get at the output shaft seal, it is in the middle of the guibo mount. It looks like a really weird size nut, like a 30mm thin-wall deep socket. Does anyone know for sure what is is? And where can I find a socket like this?

30mm nut. Thin-wall is your friend, or a grinder.

It's superior German engineering. They could have made the opening just a little bigger and the end of the shaft just a little shorter, but noo..., then it wouldn't require a special socket or grinding down an otherwise perfectly good one and then finding out it's also too short.

I bought a 30mm socket from Schucks, and grinded the sucker down. Used the impact gun, and off it went.

The nut on my trans came right off (I did use an impact). My brother's refused to budge.

I have this socket, Joel. Let me know if you want to use it, I'll mail it up to you.
