make sure you have allen sockets, long 3/8 extentions (enough to bring the ratchet out of the wheel well) and ratchet wrenches.

Seriously buying the bentley is the best money you can spend and guide you to do many DIY fixes. Not trying to be a smartass

What? Why would you need such long extensions to swap a diff? I've swapped many diffs in many different cars, and never felt the need to use any extensions longer than the standard 6".

*edit* and to the original poster of the thread, you need an 8mm allen socket to unbolt the axles. The rest of the tools needed are just normal sockets and whatnot.

because you can unbolt the halfshafts about 10 times faster. i had my diff out in 25 mins.

how you guys guys cope with the four 19mm bolts on top of the diffr ?

and aswell, what I found a real PITA was putting the diffr back, it, as in aligning bolts it with driveshaft and all... but then again i was putting in diffr which was already bolted to the subframe and I had to manuver everything in there.

when i put mine back in i used a jack to hold it in place, then did the bushing bolt first, then the top bitches.
