so my dad was complaining to me yesterday that he has trouble getting his 92 cabby into first gear sometimes. mine has the same problem too so i just put it into third first then quickly into first. he dosent think he should have to do this on a BMW with 77K miles so he wants me to find out whats up. is it the linkage or is it a problem with syncros? my car has 130K and his has 77K but we both have the same problem. any ideas or links to helpful threads would be great.

i would say syncros but im not sher. it happend on my is and i happen to have a tranny in my garage so i just put that one in and it was fix. but it might be that your clutch is just worn out and need some replacing.Comment
