    Mcoupe half-shafts

Will Mcoupe axles fit into my e30 m3 rear trailing arms. I'm not worried about them bolting up to my diff because I'm already running an Mcoupe diff, but what will it take for them to fit into my hub?

Reason I ask is because one of the axles in my M3 is shot, and since I need to replace it, I might as well upgrade if I can.

I do not beleive that they will fit. They require different bearings if I recall correctly too. I think you will need the arms as well as the shafts.

No. The MCoupe axles are HUGE. They actually use a bearing (for the flanges) that is about 1.5 times larger than the standard bearings.

Bummer. I guess I just need to find another e30 axle.

Yea, the MCoupe trailing arms are completely different and the hole for the bearing/flange is huge compared to the E30 ones.

They are far superior. I happen to have a set, that I might be willing to let go. Arms, axles, and brakes.

orly? How much? Will that change the offset at all?
How much larger are those brakes compared to the e30 m3 brakes?

I have Z3 M coupe arms, brakes, halfshafts and LSD in the back of a standard e30 [not an e30 M3]. For obvious reasons I retained the e30 crossmember.

I am running M Coupe front wheels at the rear with 215/40zr17 tyres. They are 7.5J x17 ET:41

Apart from tucking the lip up under the rear arches, there was no body mods required.

IIRC the rear wheel bearing is the same as from an 8 series. ie bloody massive.

You'll need to run MZ3 rear trailing arms.

If you want to retain an E30 diff, you need to change the diff flanges to E28 items to mate them to the MZ3 half shafts.

You can also use E36 M3 half shafts if going this route, which have the added benefit of being hollow (stronger and lighter).

Of course, all this will push your offsets toward an E36 specific wheel.
