    swapping output flanges

    would the flanges from a 2.93 non lsd direct swap onto a 3.64 lsd ? ive never done it before but i can get the 3.64 lsd for 34 bucks, and i can get the output flanges free

    Just take the flanges from your current diff and put them into the 3.64. Just pry them out with a piece of wood.

    You will also need to swap out the rear cover.

      its not going in my car. the output flanges are free from the yard. and arent all small case diff rear covers the same ?

        you wont need to swap anything at all if its an E30 diff, but im going to assume its an E28 item or something, in which case, no, not all the covers are the same.

        Also, just something to beware of, the earlier E28 diff cover is totally different and ive heard of people having problems trying to bolt an E30 cover to the rear. Can tell the difference apparently by the offset rear cover mount.

            The rear covers are different depending on the model.

            Just for clarification, the diffs are medium case, not small.
