    Who has done M20 FW to M42, I have a Q

323i Release Bearing BMW PN: 21-51-1-204-525
M20 Clutch Disc BMW PN: 21-21-1-223-643
M20 Pressure Plate BMW PN: 21-21-1-225-852
88-91 325i Single Mass Flywheel BMW PN: 11-22-1-716-276
88-91 325i Starter Pinion Gear BMW PN: 21-51-1-204-525

These are the part numbers. I went to work and looked them up and I have some questions.

Why is the Starter Pinion and TO Bearing the same P#?
Is the FW an auto FW for an HP22?
And is it single mass? BMW ETK shows it as dual.
The pressure plate does not come up in the catalog, is there a new P#?

    Thanks, Joe

Try posting this in the M42 forum or looking over at M42Club.com, maybe you'll get more responses.

Hey, you're going to have to call a dealer to get the superceded part numbers. ETK/EPC will need to be set up for ECE as well as US.

The part #s that are incorrect in the article I'll fix ASAP.

EDIT Okay I double checked and fixed it:

I had thought about changing the setting to ECE and JAP after the fact, So I was going to go in and do that in the morning. BTW when I click on it, the starter pinion gear and TO bearing are still the same PN.

So I assume the flywheel is in fact for an auto tranny, correct?

            Thank you sir

okay so here are the right numbers from work today.

323i Release Bearing BMW PN: 21-51-1-204-525
M20 Clutch Disc BMW PN: 21-21-1-223-643
M20 Pressure Plate BMW PN: 21-21-1-225-852
88-91 325i Starter Pinion Gear BMW PN: 12-41-1-722-844 (as of this post, there are none left in the USA, i got the last one, but more will be shipped)
88-91 325i Single Mass Flywheel BMW PN: 11-22-1-716-276 (this is not a flywheel, it is a flex disc. but for some reason, bmw shows it as a dual mass flywheel. i assure you it is correct.)

Looks like you got the parts list correct. I just did the M20 FW conversion the other day, changes the entire engine's character!

Holy shit... I'll look into this and try to figure out what the problem is.

It's possible that there was a superseded number that overlapped but.. hell I don't know.

I'll have to call NJ and find out what's up with that. The numbers on my site are from about 1995. Ill post the correct ones as soon as I'm 100% on them.
