    Inside bellhousing - part under input shaft.

    Taking a look in my bell housing today, and it's slightly greasy in there. Took a look around, and there's a round part underneath the input shaft - has a circlip in there and whatnot. Around this spot, it's a little wet with oil. SO, one would assume there's a leak there.

    I drained my tranny fluid, and it looks like I'm about 1/3 qt low, only got 1 qt out. Anyone know how to replace this seal?? the circlip for the hole is #22 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...45&hg=23&fg=15

    I'm debating on whether or not I should worry about it.

    I think the part that you are referring to is plug. I don't think you can get it out with the transmission assembled. You can clean that area and use silicone to seal it.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
