    Clutch Failure?

So, before this event ive had no shifting/clutch slipping problems at all.

I start up the car and head to school; I make it about 1 km as im heading up a slight incline in 4th gear....I hear some strange poping/clanging (very short) noise intermixed with my music. I turn the music down and don't hear anything strange. I continue on my way to learn that I can rev the engine freely in gear.

I can put the shifter into all gears easily...It still requires me to have the clutch in to shift as well. If i have it in reverse or any forward gear, i can try to start as i normally would and the car will lurch in that direction very shortly before power is no longer trasmitted.

    Sounds like it.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
