Hallo to everyone in this forum. My diff is about to crash so I started searching for a new one. Now i have an open diff (don't know about the final gear ratio i have, the only thing i know is that my fourth gear goes up to 160 kmh or 100mph) So I' m in a dilemma which diff to choose: an oem used diff with about 350€ or a new quaife diff for 800€?. Thanx:D:D:D

if you can afford it, get the qMtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Ι hope that in two years' time my e30 will be a trackday special car, so everything I put on the car I try to be as good as possible so I don't need to change much later.
I also found that www.diffsonline.com can fully rebuild an oem lsd with cost of about 900€ making it fully race spec (i will probably choose it to be 1 way and it will be locking at about 75%)ARIS PARA SIEMPRE, HASTA LA MUERTE

Don't get a quaife until you drive an E30 equiped with one. The basic design of the E30 semi trailing arm suspension sees that the inside wheel occasionally lifts during cornering. If this happens, the quaife loses all its "slip limiting" (purely due to it being torque biasing). They basically suck in E30 applications.
I think Gus on here is the only one with a quaife equiped car if I'm not mistaken. In his 318iS Turbo. Give him a PM.

I've had a gti with a similar but not the same rear suspension (solid rear beam) and it would lift the rear with not much effort on stiff suspension and fat rear sway, I could come out of a driveway and have a rear up in the air. Now, e30 would lift the front wheel but never rear wheel, so thats why I am asking :)Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

not a big fan of the quaife - the locking is too unpredictable (well, tis ok but I prefer a clutch plate LSD)
Sam - Glenn has one too
go for a stock LSD if you can find one (plenty here in the UK) and upgrade/rebuild if your track car goes through
remember also you will need to pay someone to install the quaife in your diffJUNGL3
