    Sources for unsprung disk....

I noticed Tree House Racing sells an I/E unsprung disk, at $155. Anyone else have anything....I've not noticed any yet....

So far I've got it down to a JB aluminum wheel at 8lbs from Turner, and a unsprung disk from THR.
Then I'd need a basically stock pressure plate.

I.E. is the only one I have seen. Why the solid disk? Purely for weight, or is it a durability issue? I am currently looking at my options as well. I currently have a 323i 13lb flywheel, and I think that that is a good route to take considering the cost of after market flywheels.

Have you considered using a JB flywheel (an awesome piece of work) and something along the lines of a ClutchMasters Stage 1 or Stage 2 clutch kit. I'd think that would be a better combination for a DSP car.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'd like to stick to the lightest possible setup without spending 2500 bucks, and making it a on/off switch....

I think it's turner that sells a 5.5" multi disk clutch w/button flywheel but it's big bucks and undriveable on the street...

          Well let's see...

          JB Racing flywheel (8lb) $489.99
          ClutchMasters Stage 1 $475.99

The combination comes out close to $1000 (Bimmerworld prices), way under your $2500 figure. I have the Stage 1 in my SPEC E30 with a stock flywheel (rule requirement) and a Stage 1 & JB Racing flywheel in my E36 M3 (DD). The Stage 1 is certainly not an "on/off switch", has a crisp engage/disengage feel, and is very suitable for the street.

right. That's what I'm looking for......JB flywheel, unsprung disk and stock type pressure plate.

I'll probably just give Sam a call at Stranoparts.com and see if he can set me up with a unsprung sachs clutch kit.
