A Friendly Metal on Metal Screech!!

Well I was driving home from work the other day and shifted from 2nd to 3rd, clutch felt normal, but when I shifted to 4th the clutch felt noticably heavier. Didn't hear any abnormal noise until I got almost home, had radio turned up for driving up the highway. The sound is definately a metal on metal grind, it is sligthly audible with clutch engaged and is screeching with the clutch disengaged (pedal depressed). I'm thinking it's the throwout bearing. I did notice a few months ago a slight noise if I was stationary with the clutch engaged. I have a new clutch set ready to go in, cause I'm not sure of the mileage on the current one. I also have fresh seals to go in while I have the tranny out.

Making sure I don't have to order anything else. Mainly waiting for this weekend, my boss has given me his massive garage to use, so I don't have to do this in my gravel driveway.

Sounds like TO bearing, that's for sure. If you feel like it you can do the input/output and shifter seals and do a quick fluid change, just to be thorough and not have a reason to drop it again.

That is my main concern, is not having to drop it again anytime soon. The only dropping I plan on doing after this is the suspension.

I got everything apart and it was the T/O bearing, appears to be welded together. Everything else looks ok, mechanically.
