Driveshaft, exhaust, heat shields, transmission cross brace...just fucking do it, or beat your head against the wall for 3 hours longer.Comment

All I do is to unbolt the transmission cross brace and allow the rear of the transmission to droop. There's not much room to work, but if you are well acquainted with how the shifter is assembled the job isn't that hard. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I called it the bitch pin in my post, but I used a little pocket screw driver and went from the top like I was comming from the engine and pried the locking tab off and that is why I call it the bitch pin. You can not see it only feel for the tab to slide the screw driver under. I had a new one so I just bent it off.
Just to make sure you are talking about #3 right?? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...27&hg=25&fg=05Originally posted by NicademusMy car beats off to that car. :bow:Comment

No, i was asking about the dowel pin / part # 18 on that website ^Comment

Well number 19 is a wide flat clip that you have to use a small screwdriver to pry it apart and slide it back of the coupler. Then the pin will come out. You might have to push it through. Putting it back in is more of a PITA. Then slide the clip back over
My pin slide out while I was driving cause the clip rotated down and the pin slide out and my linkage was laying against my driveline. I put it back in on the side of the road only using the stock jack. Not recommended.Originally posted by NicademusMy car beats off to that car. :bow:Comment
