    clutch issues possibly

im not sure why but sometimes when im driving and i shift, when i depress the clutch the rpms kind of just like stay there and dont drop, like it drops really slowly. but it doesnt happen all the time, just sometimes while driving. and also when i start my car, it idles around 1500rpms at times.

any suggestions as to why it may be doing that?

A sticking ICV, throttle body, or accelerator cable would be logical suspects. The clutch would have nothing to do with the problem.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

i was playing around with the throttle body while it was idling high and i was holding it completely closed and it was still idling high, so i went ahead and removed the ICV and cleaned it out(infact it was really clean to begin with..) and still high idling

it means the throttle position switch is working, well at least the idle position of the tps that is, there's an idle positionand a WOT position in the tps its not like on newer cars where the tps senses exactly how far open the throttle is its either closed (idle), WOT or somewhere in between. you can test this at the icu too, thats the little green box in your glove compartment next to the ecu. if u got a bentley manual there's a check procedure in the electrical section about it. i did this and mine checked fine though but u never know yours might be the problem

okay so i think i have fixed the issue, today i gave my car a valve adjustment because it had a loud ass tick previously so when i took the valve cover off i noticed one of the valve cover nuts were stripped, thus not allowing the valve cover to seal and create a vacuum leak. so far i have not noticed high idling whatsoever, and also the car sounds nice as hell too!:nice:
