Planting an LSD unit off a meduim case diff into a Small case diff

is it possible to take the LSD part from a medium case LSD and put in in a small case diff?

it can save me the hassle of getting new axle's...

I'm pretty certain that the centers can't be swapped over.

But why do you need new axles? The small or med cases swap straight in, I have switched several times.

the reason the case sizes are different is because the gears are different sizes pretty sure the lsd wont swap over
