    transmission problem

so here is what happened: I went to jump a friends car and his battery is shot so we revved my engine at about 2500 rpms for a few minutes. when we finally got his car started mine wouldn't do anything but go in reverse. I assumed I destroyed my tranny somehow, but it will still pick up speed in drive. Just EXTREMELY slowly. is it possible that i just slipped gears and could fix it by realigning them or is my tranny shot? need mechanical advice.

I have heard rumors that BMW trannys get pissed when you r3v them in park/neutral.

You may have burnt it up....sounds like its time for 5-speed swap.

Reving a 4hp22 in nuetral (or park) is bad for them

I have the same problem, and found a broken spring in my valve body.
