    pressure plate torque specs

I am trying to pull the pressure plate on my 325ic parts car to remove the flywheel. The hex bolts are super tight. Are they supposed to be this tight. If so whats the best way to get them out without stripping them out. I put about as much force as I could get and nothing.

Grade 8.8 i know are 22-24 Nm (16-18 ft lbs.)
Grade 10.9 are 30-35 Nm (22-26 ft lbs.)

    Best of Luck!

Getting them out, i put a box end wrench on the crank bolt on the front of the engine, and the open end rested on a jack stand. Makes life a lot easier if doing it by yourself without air. Also, clean the heads out, and tap that 6mm allen socket in there nice and tight. When you go to remove them use a 1/2" ratchet with a 3/8" converter, and use a cheater on there. A few good jolts counterclockwise, and you should be able to free them up. If you go too slow on that bolt, you are more likely to strip them out.

I just did this and was perplexed myself as to why they were on there so darn tight. Luckily i figured it out, and got it off with no major issues. I did however strip one out and had to beat on it, and use a vise grip to get the last one out. DEFINITELY buy NEW hardware. Well worth it.

I just use air tools for removal. Last ones I did, didnt even require that though. Man up.

Otherwise, put a socket on the front of the crank and have someone hold is still.
