    Tranny Swap - Starter Issues

I need help guys. I'm stuck in the middle of my tranny swap and I'd like to have a good idea what is wrong before I tear everything back apart.

I have put the manual transmission in, bolted it and the starter up. Turn the key, and I can hear what sounds like the starter spinning freely. First question, is there a different starter for the automatic and manuals? Realoem shows the same part number for both.

Assuming there is only one starter, what could be my issue here? As far as I can tell, I have a single mass flywheel btw.

sounds like a bad solenoid if the starter is spinning and not engaging the flywheel

Is this a common problem? The starter worked fine when I started the swap..

Are there any other ideas what it could be?

        is it put in right?

its a bit tricky to get it in right....thats all I could think of if it worked before the swap. I'd take another look at your starter and see if its mounted correctly. maybe even remove it, and take a booster pack to it.
