    Getrag 245/11 Dogleg cr

I'm wondering if anyone has any information about this transmission. I am taking a lab at my college to further understand how transmissions work, and I am disassembling the 245/11 but I can't seem to get very far. I'm currently trying to separate the front case/bell housing casting from the rest of the the trans, and the bentley says I need bmw special tools 33 1 301 and 23 1 460 (for the 260 though, not 245 not sure if they're the same). I can't even find pictures of what these tools look like, so I don't know what they do. I made a puller that bolts to the bellhousing and pushes on the input shaft, and i tried to use it, but i didn't want to push anything that really didn't want to come out easily, so I just left it, hoping to find bmw tools or information or whatnot.

As of right now, I have all the pins pushed aside, bolts taken out, plugs/retainers/locks/misc things around the case are all taken out except the freeze plugs and whats behind them, input shaft cover and circlips are off, and rear flange is off, front case can be moved apart from the rear 2 cases, but it won't come off. Basically stuck at section 7 step 7 in the bentley "manual transmission and clutch" chapter. Just wondering if there is anything special or specific to this transmission.

duh!, and no, it has issues, otherwise i wouldn't have opened it up.

It works, but it has a horrid grinding sound in first, and is extremely hard to shift when under load, (4k+ rpms, on the track/street, basically everywhere).

I have a buddy who has a grey market 323i with a dogleg in it, so i know the sounds i was hearing were not supposed to be there.

I've got a couple of these gearboxes and they dont make any funky noises. Good luck splitting the box!
