Hi Guys. Need advice.I drive my bimmer 10 years already. So far so good. Stick shift, 1990 325i. 180k. Bone stock. The only problem is sometimes when specially in the morning first gear jumps out of mesh. Not every time. The second gear , third, forth and fifth are good. Shifter does not look sloppy. After pushing little sharper the first engages as supposed to be. Did anybody had or have this problem? Aside of worn fork what could be a culprit?
    Thank you, leone30

At that mileage I'll bet there's significant wear in the shifter. I'd suggest a rebuilt of same and see if that helps. And while you are in there, take a critical look at the motor and transmission mounts and replace them if they look less than perfect. If that doesn't cure the problem, it then has to be inside of the transmission.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Your cynchros in the transmission could also be worn. To eliminate it, change your trans fluid with the proper type, and rebuild your shifter linkage. If you still have it, its on the inside.
