So I pulled a 3.25lsd from an e28 and will be putting it in the e30 shortly with the old cover and flanges and new seals.
I know it's an lsd because it has the S prefix on the metal tag, and the big white "S" stamped on the top of the case.
Here's the kicker, in the same size and font as the "S", there is a big white "E" stamp on the case too.
I remember reading somewhere that there were some e28 diffs rebuilt by the factory for some reason. Is that the meaning of the "E", or does anyone know what it's for?
