    aluminum flywheels and noise

Is it common knowledge that all aluminum flywheels are going to make noises? I'm running an aasco flywheel, with a sachs hd pressure plate, a solid hub e36 clutch disk, and had to try about three different T/O bearings (height differences) to actually get the tranny to go on. When the clutch pedal is engaged, it seems pretty quiet, but let that puppy out, and its rediculiously noisy. Marbles in a cement mixer.....The t/o bearing that I am actually running had a wobbly face to it, does that sound odd? I'll try and dig a part number up for it....

If the noise only occurs when the transmission is in neutral and the clutch is engaged (pedal up), you are probably hearing transmission input shaft rattle. That is an unfortunate side affect of a lightweight flywheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
