    A new Problem

Ok so i drove my car down to the beach. and it ran fine. then when i came back i would step on the clutch and it would go down then come back half way and then go back down the the floor. with out my foot on it. SO i think its the master cylinder. but could it also be the slave???

It could be the slave's internal spring broke possibly. I'd try that first since it would be quicker/cheaper to swap with a known good part than a master. Have you checked to see if youre leaking any brake fluid?

so you are saying that there is an internal spring in the slave.

There's not an internal spring in the slave. The clutch itself is the spring return for the slave cylinder. If the neither the slave nor the lines are leaking, the master cylinder has failed or the clutch has collapsed (which usually results in loud noises from the bell housing). Odds are all you need is a new master cylinder.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
