    Quick shifter rebuild question:

    A quick question here:

I just put in the new short shifter in with a new plastic bearing.
The one on the left, already installed in the shifter "cradle" is new:

The old one on the right is what came out of the car. Now, the old shifter's ball was aluminum. There was yellow grease in the socket bearing.

I am not sure, should I put some grease into the new ball's socket? The new shifter's ball is actually made of plastic too..

Is there any need to grease plastic on plastic? Or is it actually detrimental?
    (.Y.) R cool.

It won't hurt to use a bit of plastic safe grease. Synthetic brake grease or a lubricant meant for poly bushings would be good.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I didn't and I have no problems, but it wouldn't hurt.
