1984 318i trans and rear end ratios?

How/Where can I find the transmission gear ratios as well as my rear end ratio on my 84 318i 5 speed? I've found differing stuff on the web and forums.. some say its a 3.91:1 and some say its a 3.64:1. I found nothing about gear ratios of the transmission aside from a few mentions of .80 and .81 5th gear.
