    Need Tranny Help

First Off I have an 88' 325 SuperETA M20B27 Auto. The transmission is shot. What is my best bet..Have a shop rebuild it, or source a used, new?

Which tranny do I have a 4HP22H OR 4HP22EH and how can I tell. I got under it yesterday but couldn't see any numbers besides verifying it matches the vin.

when I look up parts for my car, rarely do I see the option SuperETA or just 325. From what I gathered just the numbers 325 stands for the SuperETA opposed to I or e or any other model. Some sites say that the 325 e is the superETA edition..Am I way off

    4th

What other year and models can I keep an eye out for at the local yards that would have my stuff in it.

    Thanks

Source a used trans from a junkyard or on the FS forums. Many members have auto trannies they've tried to give away for months.

EH is the one with sport mode.

super ETA = 1988 325. There is no 'e' in the model name, and it has the larger tail lights.
      regular ETA = pre-1988 325, 325e, 325es

Most e30s have interchangeable parts. The big schism is between the early and late models, which have somewhat different engines and different rear bodywork (and bumpers).

Thank you, I was trying to clear up what transmission I had. So now I know it is the
        4HP22EH with the sport option..

I know that the 325 is the superETA I just needed verification, some web sites don't the option of just the 325 with out the e,es,i etc.

I can know find out what other vehicles came with the 4HP22EH in it.

        thank you for your help.
