325e or 325i?

i have a 325i but some stupid guy put a eta motor and tranny in. I want to know how can i know what diff it has 325e or 325i? how can i know ?

Did you look at the tag on the differential?

a 325e will have a 2.79 or a 2.93. The 325i will have a 3.73.

It should be on a metal strip about 3 centimeters long that's under one of the bolts that the backplate of the diff is screwed on with. You might need to scrape dirt off of it to see the inscription.

if it was an auto before then it could also possibly have a 4.10 open
