Changing out the auto trans in my wife's car and need to know what size the torx bolts are so I can get the right socket. Any other special tools needed? Is it generally a one man job? Just using my small size floor jack to lower it down with, and hoping I can get it out from underneath the car okay.

What size torx socket?

The transmission uses several different sizes of torx bolt, buy a set of torx sockets from your local auto parts store/sears. They're typically less than $15 at parts stores.
Yes it's a one man job but it's going to suck without a lift.
After removing the trans brace place a jack/jack stand under the front of the engine to steady it/lift it. This helps with access to the top bolts/starter bolts since it tilts the transmission down.

The trans support and drive shaft was already out when I bought it, and just realized the usual front right motor mount is broken also, so the trans is tilted down already and the top of the fan blades are touching the shroud. I'm thinking I should replace the motor mount first, so it's more stable, but maybe it's not a problem. Any suggestions? I'm headed out to the garage to give it another look...
