    Simple shifter mod

    I have a simple question that came to my mind since where i live i can't find z3 parts nor buy from ebay.
    If i cut the pointed area and extend it half an inch can i call it a short shifter?
    If i just cut the pointed area and add half inch is it going to be a good short shifter!!??

          In welding it back, you'll melt the plastic bushing.

              This is a possibility but i will try not to by welding the part near the bushing first and cool it quick then weld the other end.
              A question: Do you think the welding part need to be bend a little or just need to be a staight extention? Because i don't have the z3 part to compare.
