    FLy wheel confusion, there is too much conflicting info on this (E flywheel fit i?)

    I am trying to find a flywheel/clutch in Canada (not easy, very expensive, limited selection)

    Found this as an option. but it lists for "E" only.

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-valeo-pa.../52281208~val/
    (i know its a usa website, but i can find it locally)

    trans is the later 260 "I" (pn 260.0.1346.90)

    To my research, the only difference "may" be the throw out bearing.
    But there is no way to confirm this. Even the valeo site does not list a flywheel for the I. Only the E.
    So i cant even cross ref.

    I have read mention of Valeo being a good kit on here.

    Anyone know for a fact this will work?

    thank you

    shit even the auto PN shows use between manual and auto cars...just resurface the auto flywheel?

      I would suspect the automatic would actually use a flexplate (11221716276) not a flywheel

        What are you trying to do? 5 speed swap or just refresh the components you already have?

          5 speed swap, clutch and flywheel are the last parts im after.
          but damn is it the most impossible to find

          the oem flywheel for this trans is backorder/non existant even in the USA. Or $700USD on ebay used...

            Not sure what you want to spend, but ...

            Flywheel: https://racehead.com.au/product/bmw-light-flywheel-m20/

            They mention flywheel options in the description. If I remember right, the 325e were dual mass flywheels, and 325i were single mass. Which ever you get, match the clutch to the flywheel as it makes a difference on the distance to the TO bearing.

            Cutch masters: http://www.clutchmasters.com/1984-1991-2-5l-e30/

            Both the RHD flywheel and Clutch masters flywheels have been mentioned by several people for cars that make power. The original Sachs clutch is a solid unit as well. If you plan on adding boost, don't use it.

              I would not use the E dual mass. I got the RHD lightwheel flywheel posted above. I had the e transmission that was stock with dual mass so switching to single mass I needed the euro 323 tob. But if you have a 325i and a 325i trans, you should be good with stock parts.

                thanks for the tips,

                The killer thing here is that Valeo kit, its designed for an E. But i wonder if its worth buying for an I.
                no confirmation anywhere. It is a single mass conversion kit...

                Valeo $444 for flywheel/clutch/tob (but no conf on 325i fitment)
                OE flywheel $600+ just for the flywheel.

                Valeo is a good manufacturer.

                Aside from those options, there is also a OWM BMW Euro single mass flywheel i can get a hold of. But who knows on fitment there in this car. The seller said id have to match the clutch to this, etc. I dont think he was too clear on that there...

                  Alternative option, if anyone can confirm;

                  late 325i trans;
                  323 euro flywheel
                  323 euro throw out bearing?
                  appropriate size bolts..

                  Would this be a viable option?

                    The kit does look nice. I would try to email them and see if you can get part numbers for each piece to double check fitment.

                      They did get back to me with the simple statement "this kit will not fit your car"...LOL

                      Seems the euro flywheel and 323 tob is the second best scenario...
