I know it is crazy but my friend and I did put M62b40 from 96 non vanos to x5 m62tub44 only block and head from non vanos, all accessories remain from x5 vanos: harness, sensors....etc.
Car starts but with the fuel pump relay off then put on once started car runs fine (little rich).
Differences :
1- Non vanos has one cam sensor and the vanos has 2. Can we drill a hole in the right place and install the sensor with a trigger wheel (maybe one from the intake side if it will fit) ?
2- Is there a way that Vanos control be deactivated?
I knos it is not e30 related but answers will be appreciated.
