    M60 anybody?

I know this is not the classifieds but thought I would mention it here.

I parted a 94 740i to have a nice M60B40 OBDI, perfect for a swap. The car had 122,000kms on it, but the engine was replaced on a Nikasil recall by BMW so it probably has less than half of that on it. It is the much desired Alusil block. Very clean and ran great.

I was keeping this for myself to do a swap but I have way too many projects on the go, so first reasonable offer takes it. I do not have a transmission but it comes with the harness, coils, ecu, injectors, etc, everything else needed for the swap.

I will crate up and ship anywhere in USA at buyers expense.

I would think its worth at least $1500 with everything but let me know if I am unreasonable.

With a tranny maybe, but if it's just an m60b40 it's not really worth that much imho... especially if it comes with an auto harness . A lower mileage m62s can be purchased for that price imho.

Should post this in the FS section, with shipping you might get a buyer for it :)

I am probably going to end up keeping it than giving it away. Probably only has 40k on it if I was to guess. ODBI makes the swap a lot easier without vanos, well for me anyways. All the nikasil ones floating around really bring down the value of these.
Now if I could only find another E30 or E28 shell to swap it into! I am keeping my eye out for a 6spd if anybody knows of one.

Nikasil is not really an issue. If you are getting a second hand engine that passes leak down test you will be fine.

While your price is what you set, it's not cheap and actually a bit more expensive then an average price for this engine/mileage combination.

            My 2 cents
