Yep, it's almost a requirement when you do a water pump anyway (pump will come with 2 new o-rings, you'll need two more for the back side of the pipes).

What a steal! I say while you have it out look for a 6 speed. You are cramming a v8 in an E30, go all the way with the 6 speed.

I know, I've debated getting ahold of you several times about it for my swap, since you and I are neighbors and all...

Possibly going to remove the heads. The HG looks like it is seeping some oil at the back of the engine. I use the term "top end" loosely to refer to everything from the bottom of the heads up. Since the VCG, etc is on top of the heads, they fall into that category.

I consider a "refresh" to be VCG, plugs, etc. I'd say rebuild if I was going to do a valve job with seals, etc, which won't happen unless I do remove the heads, and that is not something I think I am going to do.

The "top end" of an engine is the cylinder heads. Crank, rods, pistons, block is the "bottom end". Are you going to remove the heads? Also ive heard this refresh term a few times now, what does it mean? Should be a lot of fun when you are done!

    Update.

Decided to tear the top end off the engine. VCGs needed replacing anyways, so I figured I'd use my boring Sunday afternoon to check out the valve train.

Pics on 2nd post. (Where I'll be documenting the engine refresh)

    This.

Exactly what I was going to do. Also gonna do the WP, T-stat, spark plugs, etc. Needs new valve cover gaskets too, so I'll get to peek at the top end a little.

It's still sitting in the back of the truck (with a camper top on it).

    I have no space!

Good deal! I paid $200 or $300 for one, but it came with a e34 roller w/o tranny and shit interior lol.
