If the VIN sticker is on the trans, it's an HE53 trans, which is an E34 540i 6 speed production code. The flywheel looks to be an E39 unit with sensor ring on it, the rest of the stuff, minus the slave is useless for an E30 swap. Seems a little pricey for what it is, but it's your dime. The stuff looks decent and correct, given the pictures...

That more closely resembles a 5 speed transmission than the much longer 6 speed version. 6 speed tranny is also something like 110#.

Looks to me like this guy knows he got stiffed on the transmission and is trying to make at least some of his money back.

I thought that trans looked a little short too, but dismissed it as the camera angle, based on the VIN sticker. It is an HE53 VIN, but it may not be on the trans... maybe the engine? In either case, still too much money... stay away or negotiate him down to the $700 range for the lot....

yeah looks like my ZF 5-speed. I got mine for $150. Just sayin.
