Good trans/ brake hardware/ engine harness donor. I'd throw the engine away.

That is what I bought as donor for my build way back when... the only thing I ended up using was the trans, but my build quickly morphed into a much bigger project. As stated above, the engine harness, transmission and brake booster/linkage is about all that is worth keeping for a swap. There is plenty to be sold off, though. I don't know if you'll recoup your purchase price, but that's your choice. The engine itself, steam cleaned and detailed, makes a nice coffee table base, but that's about all it's good for...

Thanks for the info. I was thinkin that the B30 was poo, but it has a good trans and other parts. And I probably wont get much for the shell due to the trashed 1/4.
              good interior though.

You could probably recoup the money in parts sales, but I wouldn't pay $2400 for it... you can get unwrecked running cars for that much.

                Nice shift knob though.

I'd look for a wrecked car to buy. You WILL need that trans, but like everyone else has said, the engine is worthless, other than all the little crap that is interchangeable w/ the B40.

Finding the 6-speed is hard, and $$$, it is easier to find the ZF 5-speed (in that car you linked), and I hear (on this forum) that the ZF length allows for factory driveshaft fitment, as well as flange fitment, and modifying driveshafts is expensive.

                  Sorry about the tangent...

This is accurate. OEM E36 328i driveshaft is P&P with the 5 speed, all factory hardware, E30 center bearing, 5 speed flex disc. Everything bolts together, no mods at all...

The 5 speed used with the V8 is exactly the same 5 speed used with the M50, except is has the V8 bellhousing.

Thus the V8 5 speed is plug/play with the "standard" M50 swap driveline parts.
