^^ that isn't terribly fast. Probably deceptively so, as I think M60 E30s are generally faster than E46 M3s.

"Stock" E30 V8's with M60 engines make around 13.5 - 14.5 1/4 mile times depending on the suspension and driver. So that's roughly the scale..

speaking as a hard core fan, one may not be a fan because of the complexity and required maintenance on these motors.

That said, the M60B40 is worlds simpler/easier than say an M62TUB44, and they are also ridiculously plentiful. You can get three for the price of one S50.

it's all gonna be inferior to a solid rear axle as far as launching iirc.

Could just run stock suspension with sticky tires. Or a soft rear setup would def hook up better on launch.

I was thinking maybe soft rear and a diff/and tires made for drag is needed instead of stiff rear? For example - I could not get out of the hole at the local drag strip with m30b35, but I only had my kumho/hoosier autocross tires and 675 rear rates...it didn't work very well at all...low 14s to mid 14s iirc.

Need some serious rubber, possibly ///M coupe axles, and very stiff rear suspension to do a couple decent launches.

I would guess, if setup up correctly it should be able to run low 12's high 11's?

you may not be terribly impressed, is what people are saying. An E30 with 300hp not set up for drag will probably just spin a lot on launch.

E30 is not very good at 1/4 unless you specifically set one up as a drag car. Just the way it is.
