You're not looking hard enough if you cant find one. Even 2 bolt blocks you'll find, cause no one wants them. And yes it's been done. A new member of the screen name V8E30 has a 388 stroker in his with a 4 speed.

Yes, they are called splayed caps. And actually some say its stronger then a factory four bolt cause of the angle of the bolts in the splayed caps.

Get yourself alot of aluminum bits. The sbc deck height is like and 1" taller then the sbf so they weigh a ton more. Your also gonna have to build your own front sump pan as there isnt much to choose from in front sump form. I believe there was very limited fs oil pump/pan setups and you really cant upgrade the pump either. I had a budy make a pan with bumpouts and baffles for his 355 in his 240. Seems to work ok.

i am thinking of modifying the front sub frame maybe send it to arcasylum not sure, to fit a rear sump. I really want to buy a mig welder and fabricate my own.

i believe you can get a chevy nova pan which is front sump and cut it like they do for the ls1 swaps if you want to retain front sump

Novas are rear sump. But how much room is in an e30 for a rear sump pan??? It's been awhile since i've been under one. Cause maybe a pan for a 4x4 V8 S-10 would work?

And BTW, i got to ask you to remove your sig. Animated sigs are not allowed on here. Sorry.

You cant run a rear sump. The subframes in the way. Sbf isnt a hard swap. Especailly since you can buy all the swap parts (oilpan, mounts, wire diagrams) from e30v8.com and it weighs less and physically fits better. Downside is that sbf parts almost always have to be ordered and power is cheaper with sbc (partally due to displacement). Anouther thing that makes the sbf easier is distributor is in the front vs the rear where u have to clearance the firewall. With both dealing with engine management and fueling is basicly the same. If you want to turn u need a centerhung holley with wedged floats but if u just want to run around town or drag race an edelbrock is easier. Spark is all the same dep on what you want to run. Points, hei style, or electronic distro.
