    M62 swap OBD1 conversion question.

    So I have been working on my OBD2 setup fort M62 swap and I just can't figure out how to wire in everything with the EWS to get it to crank. I have all of the components, but I just can't get it to crank over. What would I need to make it an OBD1 car without EWS? I see other people doing their swaps this way and there is probably a good reason behind it. The engine is non-VANOS, so I was told that is a good things as I would be running M60 electronics. Would I just need an early year DME and wiring harness? If so, which DME should I look for?

    Talk to "Etexise30"
    He just invested in softwear and everything he needs to crack that nut.
    He's been busy with school lately but i know he's been dicking around with it alot.
    He's not far from us (you) he's in Signal hill. Once I'm to that stage I plan in having him
    hack' my DME too...

      You need a m60 "404" ECU because it does not utilize EWS.

        404 will not work unless the M62 is non vanos and converted to OBD1
        M62 with or without vanos can get ews bypassed and the DME can be programmed from auto to manual
        OBD2 ECUS for the V8s have 5 connector blocks
        Vanos=DME7(OBD2 with Fly by wire)2001+

        Non Vanos=DME1.(after 99)

        M62 Non Vanos/pre 99

        OBD1 M60

        i got all the software and a couple of cable but i need more interfaces for more stuff to do such as deleting maf and doing my own version of Alpha-N Tune

          the EWS can be bypassed :) PM me and i can go out to irvine or u can drop off your DME and EWS with key and ring i got all the pinouts for these if u have the 55 pin connector style ECU then u have EWS 2 or 3 but if u have EWS 3.3 then its more complicated but doable:) i got software and electrical diagrams to the dam ews
