    ATTN: 5.0 swapped e30's

How would you guys feel about a QUALITY custom turbo kit around 2-3k?

    Kit would include the following:

    Turbonetics Turbo 60-1
Custom fabricated turbo manifolds and merge with wastegate provision
    Wastegate 38mm
    Intercooler (front mount)
    Intercooler piping (with min couplers)
    Bosch style bypass valve
Oil feed and return lines with all fittings

    Add on options:

    downpipe
    turbo back exhaust
    turbonetics t76 upgrade
    rg45 wastegate upgrade
    walbro 255lph fuel pump

The kit will be developed around explorer accessories and foxbody accessories I don't forsee much difference but proper R&D will be done. This is something I would do for the community of 5.0 swapped cars looking for easy bolt on power with no modification thats right!! BOLT ON e30 302/5.0 turbo kit. The kit would have the potential to split your block into pieces approx 500 + hp.

I would like to see if the market is there. I have tenatively got the ball rolling but now its time to put a feeler out there. A group buy would be how I would approach this. I will take the nessacary steps to become a forum sponsor/vendor. This is simply a FEELER.

          oh jesus...
I keep telling myself to finish up my m20. But the 5.0 keeps luring me in.
If I went 5.0 then decided I wanted boost, id probably look into the vortech blowers first.
Whats your take on blower vs turbo for E30-5.0 application?

I could say ya id be all over this but homestly i dont think the market is there. Theres prob a grand total of 25 5.0 swaps in the us and maybe 10% would actually sack up and pay for the kit. If you build it as its ordered and dont expect to make any real cash on it then id say why not go for it but its prob not gonna be a lucritive venture.

I'd be more interested in a set of headers that fit without being backwards. Any support for 5.0 swapped E30s is great, but maybe making the 5.0 swap easier will increase your potential customer base.

That's nice 'n all, but the front wrap around exhaust will encourage people to eventually run a tarbo!

Yes, the wraparound front makes the single turbo sbf seem logical. At least it seemed logical at the time.

If you can fab all the piping and shit why not build a jig for proper headers also? Id say there is def gonna be a bigger customer base for the headers. You'll at least pick up 75% of the dudes doing the swap with the headers and you could actually make a bit of $ doing that to offset the time and cost of building the few turbo kits that were ordered.

The whole header issue is one of the reasons I didn't go for a 5.0 swap.

This. Seriously. Right now, since I no longer work at a shop, my options are as follows:

                            1. Pull off a setup like what funfgan is rocking right now (headers + a foot or two of pipe dumping forward of the front wheels)
                            -or-
                            2. Spend a WHOLE lot of money having someone else rig something up for me. I'd prefer this way, since I would like to have cutouts

I'd drop $400 on custom headers

Good idea none the less though. If I was going EFI and had an aftermarket block that wouldn't grenade after 400 or so ponies I'd be interested.
