    M60B40 6 Speed Propshaft??

I'm sure I read somewhere that the e36 328 Front propshaft fitted the gearbox side, and I would just need to shorten the rear section of the 328 propshaft. But I've just looked the standard 540 and 328 propshaft, and no way the front section of the 328 is going to fit.

Is the only way to get it sorted, to cut the end flange off the rear section of 328, and cut/weld it onto the 540 propshaft?

    Any BMW with a 4.x V8 will work. I got a 740i propshaft. Auto/man trans doesn't matter. The guibo is actually the same part #, e32, 34, 39, 38, 31, etc....as long as it's a 4.x V8 car.

Cut the flange from the V8 shaft and have it welded to the front half of the e30 shaft, after it is shortened. I'd pay a driveshaft shop as it has to be balanced afterwards.

ok, yeah I'll paying someone to modify it. A mate got 1 done last year, didn't cost that much. Always best to get something like that welded and balanced properly.

So is it best to cut front flange off the 540 prop, and get that welded onto e30 prop, or use the 540 prop and cut rear flange off e30 prop?

I'm cutting the flange from the 740 prop and putting it on the front of the e30 prop. Then the back is the stock e30 shaft. Center support is in the stock location, etc.

Yes good point, about the centre support. I just looked at mine again, and no difference in thickness of the propshafts, just the flanges are different. So I'll do the same, get the 540 flange cut off and welded onto the e30 prop. Would also keep the centre adjuster aswell, so bit of room for error in the length.
