Is the switch to the canister supposed to have a constant 12V when the engine is running?

I hooked mine up with the E32 purge valve. I think it has a switched 12v and the DME grounds it when it sees the appropriate criteria is met to do so. The wires are in an odd looking plug that ended up in my glovebox on the 530 harness. Had to cut and splice a connector to it but it worked out well and functions fine. No annoying CEL either. -
