    Manual Master Cylinders Question

For those using the manual brake setups, what are you using for the clutch master cylinder? Bore size is what I am looking for. How does your pedal feel compared to stock? Have you noticed any issues with return? Are you using a return spring?

I'm using a stock 325 master cylinder. No idea what bore size is, look it up for a '87 eta. Pedal is a bit more stiff, but definitely reasonable (I've got the Massive kit). The cool part is that you have to put a MASSIVE amount of pressure on the brake pedal to take the brakes from 90% power to locking them up... which is a good thing i guess.

I'd say braking power was slightly reduced though... might want to look into a BBK (I currently am)

The master cylinders have pretty hefty springs inside of them... self returning. Also, the seals on caliper pistons are square cut for this reason as well. Don't get me wrong, it's not going to hurt anything if you decide to use a return spring, but you don't necessarily need one.

I'm running a single 3/4" compact master cylinder from Wilwood on my car. Feel and return is basically stock.

MJCRO are you using the 530's slave cylinder or an E36 part?

Lol, I don't think wilwood really makes parts for specific cars... their stuff is pretty universal :)

Wilwood makes a wide assortment of small, lightweight master cylinders that are suitable for high performance street and racing applications and they are available in a variety of bore sizes. This page displays Master Cylinders

Pedal feel is better than stock, while effort is actually pretty close with the 6.2:1 pedal box and 5/8 cylinders. Flat spotted 3 tyres so far it's that good (old tyres).
Just a little project im working on

The question to MJCRO was specifically about the OEM slave cylinder on the transmissions not the master that will be at the pedal.

Yep, have a line from my Wilwood clutch master cylinder to the stock slave cylinder on the ZF 5 speed. Works great.
