Nice, that's essentially what I'm doing, simplified management using MS3. I'm fairly far along and can share what I find once you are setting up the MS.
If you are using the 6-speed, you don't need the front pulley trigger, it has the sensor mount location there already at the flywheel. Unless you just want to change it? I'm using it, I expect it will work.

I'm excited to see another Canadian V8 E30. I'll be pulling out my M60B40 to replace it with a OBD1 M62B44 this winter also.Leave a comment:

awwwww the man himself!! :)
Check this out!!worth it lol..
Im going to get rid of every single B.S stuff BMW has built in this M62B44 engine.. one of the reasons I wanted a non Vanos but the 4.4 displacement and make the wiring harness and engine management as simple as f*cking possible and with tuning capability watch me make more power then stock.
with Whodwho help of course but I do have some experience as I built a MS2 DIY from scratch with wasted spark and tuned it myself on the M20 twincharged car...no reason we cant do it the same with 2 more cylinders.. wasted spark... front pulley trigger...IAC control..TPS. oem injector control...CT and MAP an we should have this engine running.Leave a comment:

Now that I finished up the BIG challenge of building a Twincharged E30: http://bmw325e30turbo.blogspot.ca/ Huge blog of few years.
It was a lot of fun and was a lot of Power... actually too much power as I was breaking axles all the time. I really wanted a tamer beast ...for the street and strip. So after spending the winter building a convertible M30 for my Girlfriend: http://bmwe30m30b35.blogspot.com/ short blog just few winter months.
It gave me time to think about what direction I should go for my Car... and after much thinking I decided to go the V8 route... few reasons...the challenge and the more tamed beast of the v8 instead of the crazy torque monster of the twincharged setup (Which I sold to a local member of the bmw Quebec club and I still have to remove so it can go to the new owner who seems ready to take it on in next few weeks)
So first thing was to find an engine and the best I could find was a Non-Vanos 1997 M62B44 off a E39 with the 6 speed manual. Right now am buying parts as deal come buy as this will only be full in effect in winter months. But my biggest plan is to be able to get rid of all the wiring and get it to work on Megasquirt (MS)2 or 3.
I have the original keys, IGN lock and EWS box so this maybe for sale soon with the wiring harness if I dont go this route for anybody interested.
Went to montreal 2-3 hours away to pick it up in my jeep wrangler

I also have mounts for it made by garagistic. Going to need the headers and driveshaft too.
Stay tuned for a LOT more coming...Tags: None
