    M6X, S62 and 5 speeds

So, Just throwing this out there, hoping maybe someone has first hand experience with this, or, possibly reads/writes the native language well enough to get answers.

I've seen references on and off for a company in Poland that makes conversion plates to use V12 and V8 BMW engine bolt pattern to mount up the very common M20/M50 bolt pattern of transmissions.... of which there are TONS to choose from. (Yes, I know there are 4 bangers too that match that bolt pattern)

My first concern is about the pilot bearing, is the spacing such that we're still getting the nose of the input shaft adequately into the pilot bearing?

Second, will the TO bearing and standard clutchs and flywheels still work, or, will modifications need to be made to have the TO bearing stick out further, and if so, how much?

Just curious if anyone has had their hands on these parts.

I am aware that E34 M60's have a 5 speed available, and, once you have that bell housing, it would be relatively easy to swap in a new back half if you blow up or out the first one....

You'd need to mount the crank trigger on the front of the engine, as the OBDII engines have it in the bellhousing.

If nothing else, use a flexplate to engage the starter, then stack a small button flywheel on top of it to put the 6 cylinder clutch at the right depth for the pilot bearing, input shaft splines and throw out mechanism to work as they should.
