Questions for 325is S62 swap

I currently have a 10k dollar budget and was wondering how likely it is I could get the car and do the swap for in that price range. My friend has the motor in a box and I could probably get the motor from him for a good price. Would this be a reasonable price range? If not let me know what would and I can work to extend my budget.

What's a "good price" for the engine? What amount of the fab work can you do yourself? By "get the car and do the swap" that means you don't have a car already? If you have to buy an E30 and do the swap, there is no way to do it for 10K.
