    1UZ ITBs on M60?

A little background, I have a m60 with a 5 speed that I swapped in about a year and half ago..I just picked up a m62 and 420G to build a m60b44. Ive decided that I must have ITBs on this thing. Ill make a build thread when the time comes but now I'm just gathering parts.
So.. Ive been looking into the s62 ITBs with adapter plates which seem like a good option but they stick straight up and hood clearance will be an issue. Ive seen other setups that "overlap" each other if you will which I think would be ideal: http://www.megatunning.com/obx-racin...-sfd52-ls-3-gm
with a setup like this it is to my understanding that you will have more bottom end power because of the longer runners and it just fits in there nicely. But we all know that ls intake ports are nowhere close to m60.
However, 1UZ ports are. I found these which Im sure would still need an adapter plate but still seems like a viable option:http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Individu...75e7ed&vxp=mtr
As a third option, Im sure there are street bike ITBs that could work but I'm not really sure where to start looking..
    Thoughts?

Dude I can't offer much help, but I'm totally down with your thinking here. I wondered if you couldn't make your adapters for S62 ITBs tilt them towards each other and have the trumpets cross. Ideally you want the throttle body as close as possible to the head, that's the whole point of itbs from what I understand. What kind of tuning would you do? I'm not quite financially ready for this project but my M60 will get itbs some day. I'll be patiently waiting for your build tread.

Street bike ITB's will probably have the wrong length trumpet to work at M60 RPM's. The trumpet length is incredibly important. The 1UZ setup sounds interesting. Also, that is an incredibly cheap 1uz part, most stuff made for that motor is ungodly expensive so there might be a reason it's cheap.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

They're OBX though. I've heard of sticking throttle plate issues with them.

          Found this in a thread detailing Hateley's drift build a while ago, while it was M60;

"Metrix Motorsport came up with the ITB setup, Rob used to race bikes back in the day and has tons of old motorcycle parts around. They did some searching around the shop and found a set if 8 ducati ITBs that are the right size. The 2 runners are from some random 4cyl mercedes diesel engine, they just happen to line up perfectly! Metrix only had one set of runners but they happened to have another one at the junk yard, and only one."

Do you know what the inlet spacing is like on the 1uz in comparison to the m60 head?

I dont, I can't imagine that its the same as m60 so in theory to get those OBX 1UZ to work you would have to cut them apart. Or maybe you can take the throttles off that plate? idk

                1UZ ITBs on M60?

You know that those bodies are totally straight in shape meaning that the angle they sit at must be dictated by the angle of the inlets on the head?

Personally I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

Why don't you think about dropping your engine to get clearance, you will in turn lower the mass of the engine and improve the handling and in turn give you further bonnet clearance allowing for the fitting of the ITBs.

As mentioned above you really need a long runner on low revving v8 or it will loose some of the power delivery qualities.

My setup mounted on spare engine, with s62 130mm-ish runners you will need approximately 5inches of clearance above the oil cap height.
