Revshift. Coincidentally their ad is in the top right of the page for me as I'm replying to this thread.

Also, I'm not totally sure they sell that particular giubo anymore.

Guibo.. That's the word I was looking for.

Does it need to be specifically for the v8 box or does one from m3 6cylinder fit? 6 cylinder version might be easier got in the uk to save on postage / import duties

Old m3 (e30/e36/e46) have 96mm bolt circle, v8 with 6speed gearbox have 105mm bolt circle.
Personally my opinion is that those aluminum guibos are shit.

Read the Jack 'n Coke thread before you buy one...

It looks like the bushings are longer than the center sleeves. If there isn't metal to metal contact between the center sleeves, bolt heads and mounting flange, then it would fail spectacularly.

              Thanks guys.

I'm fitting my v8 into a none Bmw, so I'm having a custom prop made. The car is going to be used for circuit racing, does the prop flange bolt straight to the gearbox flange without the guibo at all?

Hopefully others with better knowledge than me will comment, but even if you could bolt the shaft directly to the output flange, I think it would be an extremely bad idea. The shaft would have to be mounted PRECISELY in exact alignment with the main bearings axis.

I think the purpose of the guibo is to accommodate the normal small angles of difference between the axis of the main bearings and the first portion of the driveshaft. I don't think there is really a down side to using one, only benefit...

Ofcourse! Any shafts that I have used before have had hardy spicers at each end.

I had only considered that the guibo is there for taking up / cushioning drive take up not to take up the Angle. It won't work for me anyway as I'll be using a single piece prop because it is so short!
