    PSA regarding m60 Engines

Search the interwebs about how much cooling pressure is designed into these engines and how it correlates to failures of components. The high heat they run and the system pressures required explain exactly why the e39 guys are constantly replacing parts.

If you want to do some reading, check out my build thread starting with post 75, post 80, and 81.

Moderators, please don't delete this post. I am just trying to help folks with their m60 swaps and the potential problems they might have.

I think the e39's (M62's) run hotter than M60's no? I think I have a quite e30-y 88 deg thermostat in my M60. The M62's run a electronic thermostat iirc, those run well over 100 deg @ cruise, I could see those making more trouble

Yes, the m62s run an electric thermostat. According to realoem though, the 94-95 m60s had 95c thermostats. Part number 11531702279.
