    M62 Turbo Pros & Cons?

Well my project has come to a crossroads, I'm at the stage where I'm starting to build my exhaust manifolds.

My V8 swap isn't into a e30 or a BMW for that matter but an old 70's British sports car.

The car will weight 900kg, run 13" wheels and look retro, I've all the gear sitting to run it on S62 ITB's but I'm seriously considering bolting up a a pair of turbos.

I've been speaking with a few chaps in Scandinavia who have given me all the info I require, it would seem that a pair of TD04 15 or 16T turbos running 0.8/0.9 bar of boost will give me ~500hp. Awesome!

They talked me through oilfeeds, clutch options and plug & play 830cc injectors. He says the small turbos are virtually lagless.

But how reliable is this setup going to be? Is my heart going to be broken chasing endless problems?

Any experience would be great, what power can the 6speed v8 box take? My axle is uprated, but I'd be nervous with much over 500lb/ft.

If the car weighs 900 it will be really quick N/A. I wouldn't bother with turbos unless you are building a drag car. My M60 Touring weighs 1150 and its plenty quick with a m60. Your m62 puts down an additional 20 whp. I do have headers though. If you also build some nice headers you'll gain some good power, and your little car will be as quick as anything on the road.

Thanks for the reply, I'm aware it should be quick with 300hp standard engine at that weight but the car is being built for competition (hillclimbs) and will be run against other 5-600hp turbo charged cars.

Running it occasionally on the road will just be for fun and I'm sure scary and a handful on road tyres!

Flanges now purchased for building the manifolds and downpipes :)
