    Can someone PLEASE dyno a franken m60/2 and post the results????

    We have been fooling with these for perhaps 3 years now and still no published results? whaaaat???!

    I think that as a service to the community, someone needs to get the info out so other members can make the determination if this swap is worth the extra trouble.

    pretty puuuuu-leeeeze??????


    not calling anyone out specifically....anyone.....anyone...(jgood)...... anyone.....beuler....????? 8)

      Here's a couple.

      Power jump seems low at first, but looking at 40 extra wheel torque, the peak gain of 15 still means the average horsepower gain in the powerband might be a solid 30. (JGood gaining 5 mph trap speed confirms area under the curve is a big deal). Plus the cam timing hadn't been quite idealized, and intake hadn't been swapped for shorter runner version. I bet shortened runners on one of the stock manifolds is the last bit needed to let the 32v family make peak power closer to 7000 rpm, because everything else can surely fill 4.0 cylinders effectively beyond just 5800.

          It's not just doing the build... it's getting a good tune afterward that's required as well. If someone develops an OBDI chip for it, that might help (or maybe an OBDII tune in the non-VANOS M62 controls)

            thank you for posting this. i spent 20 min reading through it. i can't figure out why the op spends so much time messing with cams and intakes but refuses to buy a dedicated m60b44 tune. this just makes no sense to me.

              Which DME should he use? Isn't Miller basically the only outfit doing OBDI tuning these days?

              If he uses OBDII, who can tune it?
